Dr. LaPorte received her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed her residency in orthopedic surgery at the Johns Hopkins University. She completed a fellowship in hand surgery at the Curtis National Hand Center at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital.
Dr. LaPorte is an associate professor of orthopedic surgery at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and is director of the Johns Hopkins Orthopedic Residency Program. She is an attending hand surgeon and consultant for outpatient clinics and surgical cases with the residents and fellows, and is actively involved in direct surgical education and didactic lectures.
Dr LaPorte is a member of several committees in the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), with a special interest in hand surgery education and curriculum.
