The MedStar Heart & Vascular Institute has expanded, welcoming cardiothoracic surgeon Dipin Gupta, MD, FACS. Joining the premier cardiovascular program in the mid-Atlantic region, Dr. Gupta will bring advanced heart care and expertise to the area’s cardiac patients.
Dipin Gupta, MD, FACS, is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon, specializing in adult cardiovascular surgery with a focus on minimally invasive approaches to valve repair and replacement, coronary artery bypass grafting, surgical atrial fibrillation ablation, and endovascular stent graft implantation for aortic aneurysm repair. He also brings expertise in performing hybrid techniques in which both surgeons and cardiologists work side-by-side to most efficiently treat complex patients.
Dr. Gupta graduated from the accelerated six-year BS/MD program at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. After completing an internship at Mayo Clinic, he completed his General Surgery residency at Temple University in Philadelphia and his Cardiothoracic Surgery fellowship at New York University, where he received extensive training in minimally invasive techniques.
